The OpenOKState program contributes to the success of OSU students, faculty, and the state of Oklahoma by facilitating open, customizable access to meaningful teaching, learning, and research resources and experiences.

In addition to supporting the adoption, modification, and creation of OER, the program partners with community and campus organizations to help openly publish and disseminate their creative and scholarly work.

Open at OSU

Oklahoma State University is proud to support development and use of open educational resources to facilitate affordable and innovative learning opportunities. Administrative input has facilitated formal recommendations from the Faculty Council and the Graduate and Professional Student Government Association encouraging campus-wide advocacy and support for course integration of open educational resources. The goals of this program include:

  • Assessing and documenting the impact of textbook costs for students
  • Assessing and documenting the impact of textbook costs for faculty and instructors
  • Facilitating cultural changes in understanding regarding OER, including awareness of support regarding OER adoption and information regarding OER and classroom efficacy
  • Promoting a broader culture of OER adoption in the state of Oklahoma
