Audrey Lorraine is a lover of poetry and connoisseur of all things weird. She enjoys live music, memorable outings with her friends, and fish. With fish memorabilia decorating her apartment, her love for these aquatic creatures is sometimes even sprinkled throughout her poetry. Some of her favorite musical artists are Hozier, Nat Lefkoff, Ethel Cain, and Kevin Atwater. A couple of her favorite poets are Richard Siken and Mary Oliver, all who have no doubt had a positive impact on her writing. Her poetry masterfully encapsulates not only what it means to be human, but also what it means to be a woman. She accomplishes this while also managing to highlight the violence that can simultaneously exist alongside sensitivity. Currently an English Major at Oklahoma State University, Audrey plans on eventually getting her master’s in library science.
Ava Walters is an undergraduate student currently studying Elementary Education at Oklahoma State University. Aside from studying or losing hours in a good book, she spends much of her time constructing stories that explore themes of war, loss, and human ephemerality. In the future, she hopes to turn her ardent love of writing into a permanent authorship. She can also be found illustrating her beloved characters or spending time with furry friends.
Carson Crosby, a freshman from Chickasha, Oklahoma, is someone who truly embraces life’s simple pleasures. When he’s not hitting the books, you can find him outdoors, playing his guitar, honing his skills in leatherworking and woodworking, or getting lost in a good book. Carson draws much of his inspiration from classic American authors like Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and John Steinbeck, whose works have shaped his perspective on life. His proudest accomplishment is the impressive mustache he’s grown, which he claims to be his greatest asset. His friends all say that he dresses and acts like a grandpa, and he has a knack for being able to fix anything.
Cora Martin is a second year English literature student, studying to eventually become a professor. She greatly enjoys taking long walks around campus to observe the local plant, goose, and human life.
Doxon Kenny is an education major from Tulsa Oklahoma. They spend their free time baking or crocheting which often includes pulling the yarn away from their cat Dionysus. They are a CM and are excited to start their higher education masters degree in a year or two.
Ema Summar is an aspiring novelist from Sand Springs, Oklahoma, with a passion for mythology and storytelling. She is currently studying strategic communications with a minor in creative writing at Oklahoma State University. In her writing, Ema enjoys reimagining familiar ideas through unexpected perspectives, often adding a hint of magic to the ordinary. She is drawn to unusual subjects like cults, religion, and the unseen forces that shape our lives—elements she often weaves into her stories. In her free time, she can be found searching for new plants to add to her collection, hanging out with her cat, Ophelia, or reading anything and everything. She has never met a thrift store bookshelf she didn’t like.
Grey Baker is graduating this May with a bachelor’s in strategic communications. She will continue her education in the MFA creative writing program with an emphasis in fiction at OSU. She is interested in the concept of shrouding modern topics in the world of fantasy and most of her work centers themes of feminism, mental health and a socioeconomic divide. In her free time, she enjoys playing Dungeons and Dragons and spending time with her pets, Taz (dog) and Emi (cat).
Joseph Idell-Whitt is a passionate poet currently working with themes of emotion, reflection, and personal growth through writing. He recently began the publishing process for his debut poetry collection, which will showcase his growth from his earliest pieces to his most recent work. Joseph is deeply dedicated to the craft of poetry and is working to expand his understanding of both himself and his creativity. His writing speaks from both the heart and mind. He is honored that Frontier Mosaic has accepted his work. Currently, he is in college, having two majors, one being Human Development and Family Sciences and the other being University Studies. Joseph loves learning and looks forward to continuing to grow as a writer, sharing his poetry with the world through future publications.
Justice Rebmann is a Stillwater native and a soon-to-be graduate of OSU with a Bachelor’s in French. After graduating, she will pursue her Master’s in Linguistics at Trinity Western University in British Columbia and has plans to become a field linguist. Her three great loves are art, writing, and language (a close fourth being lavender lattes). You can find her poetry published in Glass Mountain Magazine and previous editions of Frontier Mosaic.
Lane Howard is a nonbinary young writer based in Stillwater, Oklahoma. They are currently an undergraduate pursuing creative writing at Oklahoma State University. Their work typically illustrates topics like mental health, suicide, and visceral femininity through bizarre-yet-beautiful expression.
Lauren Malec is a first-year student studying speech language-pathology at OSU. Her goal is to work with young children in a daycare or school setting by improving their use of speech and language. Lauren spent her childhood in Michigan and has been located in Stillwater for ten years. Her parents and labradoodle, Cali, are also in Stillwater, and she has an older brother who is currently going to school in Joplin, MO. When she’s not working on her latest writing project, Lauren loves reading fantasy books, spending time outdoors, baking, and painting. She hopes to publish her current novel in the next few years.
Maguire Lawrence is currently a junior at Oklahoma State University studying for a dual degree in Mathematics and Statistics, with intention to go into insurance. Outside of studies, however, he opts to flex the other half of his brain in pursuit of a more balanced existence. Though still an inexperienced novice when it comes to the world of creative writing, he hopes to continue improving in his spare time, and is grateful for the chance to share something with the world.
Tylee Kareck is a senior undergraduate student at Oklahoma State University pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics. After graduation, she plans to attend graduate school and continue working in engineering research and higher education. She is from Sparks, Nevada and has loved painting since she could hold a brush. Her artwork is strongly influenced by the idea of art for its own sake and sometimes incorporates concepts from math, science, and unique interpretations of the natural world. She hopes to share visually interesting pieces and possibly inspire interest in math and science through her work.
