Lillian Cordes is a contemporary figurative artist based in New York who explores the complexities of the female form. She is known for her distorted figurative elements and creates an abstract construction of superimposed forms. Lillian works in mixed media consisting of Oil, Charcoal, and ink. She uses expressionistic mark-making to convey the fleeting of time and movement. Her work relies on themes of self-discovery, Vulnerability, and Empowerment. She is fascinated with the effects societal implications have on the perception of womanhood. Lillian is graduating with a BFA from Oklahoma State University in spring of 2024 and is pursuing her practice as she completes her MFA In New York. She has been featured in multiple group exhibitions.
